Amidst all the Postal Service Reunion hurrah, I kinda forgot to post about them.

Ok, here goes…

In brief, Postal Service is a pretty kick ass musical collaboration consisting of Deathcab for Cuties front man Benjamin Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello of Dntel, and Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley. Postal Service put out one album in ‘03 titled Give Up, and a few scattered covers, and singles.

Skip to present day….

Although there has been a ton of speculation, no NEW album has been announced(to my knowledge), howwwwever The Postal Service HAS released a tenth anniversary edition of Give Up featuring TWO new singles(recorded back in the Give Up days of yore), annnnd they’re pretty much touring everywhere.

Hopefully all this hootenanny and popularity will inspire TPS to get in the studio.

Peter Broderick - Everything I know

peter Broderick is a multi instrumentalist and composer that not only performs solo but plays with a lot of other really good musicians/bands ( She & Him, Horse and Feathers, Delorean and is also a member of the indie band Efterklang).

Anyways, I think you’ll like this song.

For fans of Andrew Bird, The Barr Brothers, The Head and the Heart, Efterklang.

Death Cab For Cutie - Home Is A Fire(Official Video)

I heard a little bit of hate/trash talk about this before I watched it, and as I was watching it, I didn’t get it. I think it’s a decent video. I didn’t care for the lyrics posted all over the city, thought that was a little cheesey, but I’ve definitely seen worse videos.

If you haven’t had the chance to listen to much of the collaboration of actress/singer Zooey Deschanel and Singer/song writer M. Ward then take the time and do so. They have two albums out now, and both are pretty spectacular.

Tired Pony will most likely be the NEXT supergroup to invade your ears if you ever turn on a radio.

The band consists of Snow Patrols lead singer Gary Lightbody, Peter Buck from R.E.M., and Richard Colburn of Belle and Sebastian. You can get the bands first single, today only at their website tiredpony.com.  It’s pretty decent, listen to it now before the radio ruins it and they will.

Also the album will feature guests such as M. Ward, Zooey Deschanel, and Tom Smith of the Editors.
