Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Let The Day Begin
I’ve heard at least a handful of BRMC songs since they formed and was never really that impressed(maybe I was just listening to the wrong tracks?). However, last week I heard this song on the radio and googled the lyrics, blah blah blah, and well, I love it. Slightly anthem like in the veins of a U2 song(A good U2 song,..and yes, they exist. ;) ) with some solid lyrics.
The shamrock shake mix has sort of become a tradition of this blog. This will be the third mix in three years inspired by the great holiday, green beer, corned beef, cabbage, whiskey, and of course Irish bands and Irish themed music. Bottoms up!

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there!
If you haven’t heard this song, or heard about the album from which it came, you should check it out. The song is a part of a collaboration album, featuring acts like Eddie Vedder, Beck , Bono, David Bowie, Faith Hill, Lauryn Hill, and a lot of other artists. The album is put out by Every Mother Counts, an organization dedicated to increasing education and support around the issue of maternal mortality.

“MLK” is the tenth and final song from U2’s 1984 album, The Unforgettable Fire. A lullaby to honor Martin Luther King, Jr., it is a short, pensive piece with simple lyrics. It was because of this song, along with “Pride (In the Name of Love)”, another tribute to King, that earned Bono the highest honor of the King Center, an organization founded by Coretta Scott King.”
