Regina Spektor - Don’t Leave Me ( Ne Me Quitte Pas)
Apparently, this is actually a new rendition of an older Regina song. Reworked. Whatever. It’s awesome.
Don’t Leave Me will be on the new album, What We Saw From The Cheap Seats, out May 29th.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich - Ticket To Ride(Beatles Cover)
Perfect for an afternoon like this. Chill and acoustic. The Beatles are a tough band to cover(even though just about everyone and their mom attempt) but Leftwich nails it.

Deportees(Featuring Lykke Li) - A New Name To Go By
Well, this kinda made my morning, and I in no way feel lame about that. Haha
According to Wikipedia, “Deportees are a Swedish band from Vindeln and Umeå, formed in 2003, consisting of brothers Peder Stenberg (vocals) and Anders Stenberg (guitar), in addition to Thomas Hedlund (drummer) and Mattias Lidström (keyboard).”
….and if you probably know who Lykke Li is, and if you don’t, well, you really SHOULD.
Btw, after listening to this song, I went over to the Deportees page, and they’re pretty solid. Check em out HERE.

Peter Broderick - Everything I know
peter Broderick is a multi instrumentalist and composer that not only performs solo but plays with a lot of other really good musicians/bands ( She & Him, Horse and Feathers, Delorean and is also a member of the indie band Efterklang).
Anyways, I think you’ll like this song.
For fans of Andrew Bird, The Barr Brothers, The Head and the Heart, Efterklang.
The Shins - Bait and Switch (Official Video)
The latest offering from James Mercer and Co. I think I m ight be posting this strictly out of my love for The Shins though. Probably my least favorite off the new album so far. I’m not saying it’s terrible or anything, really I don’t know if I have heard a terrible Shins song. Ever. It might just need a few more listens.
Port of Morrow, the new Shins album, is scheduled to be released March 20th.
Grimes - Oblivion (Official Video)
Interesting new video from Claire Boucher aka Grimes. To me it says something, maybe even makes a statement, about stereotyping and the images and labels we as humans so readily tag on to just about everyone we meet and/or see.
Then again, maybe I am reading too much into this and really Claire is just rocking out with a bunch of halk naked dudes. ;)
Thoughts?
Gorillaz - Do Ya Thing(Official Video)
To be honest, when I heard this the other day, I didn’t like it, but I absolutely love pretty much all of the Gorillaz music videos, and after a few more listens this is kinda nice, and it dooooes feature Andre 3000(and James Murphy).

The Griswolds - Mississippi
The latest from this newish band from Australia, and I gotta say,….I fucking love it. I’ve hit repeat like fifty times in the last half hour, it’s so good. Ok, that isn’t possible, but this is quite possibly the best song I have had the privilege of listening to in a bit.
I think you’ll agree, and especially if you like bands like Mgmt, Vampire weekend, Foster the People, Yeasayer, etc, etc, blah blah blah. Just listen to it.
