A Silent Film - Danny, Dakota and the Wishing Well
I love a song that tells a story. Actually, it’s my favorite kind of song. And this song tells an amazingly sad and beautiful story. Abso - freaking-lutely love this song.
…..and what a cool band name, yeah?

Noah and the Whale - There Will Come A Time
A new track by Noah and the Whale is always a good thing, and a new album is even better(Heart of Nowhere is due out May 6th, 2013).
This new track is a perfect example of exactly why I love this band.

Air Review - Young
The sky is blue, the sun is up and bright, and the snow is melting all crazy and sparkly and this song is the perfect soundtrack.
(Yes, run on sentences are my new specialty)

Jonny Dylan Hughes - Running (No Doubt Cover)
One of the most interesting covers I have heard in a minute.
Until the chorus came along, I was thinking to myself, ‘this is a No Doubt song?’.
An unusual combo of poppy music and slow, gravelly vocals that doesn’t sound that good as a description, but you know what? It works.

Mimicking Birds - Cabin Fever
This isn’t a new song per se, but gosh, is it nice.
The simple, picking, pushing and pulling of strings. Calm, collected lyrics sometimes almost whispered by a, at times husky voice. All of which comes across like a warm fire in a cabin, on a lake, mid winter when it’s oh so very cold and stormy out and you’re snowed in with nowhere to go. Cabin Fever.

Rilo Kiley - Let me Back In
New Rilo Kiley?! What? What?
Well, Yes annnd No. This is new (*Kinda like what Postal service is doing), as in unreleased from back in the day. New to us, old to the band.
Buuuuuttt,.. it’s still Rilo Kiley and most likely most have never heard it.
The verdict: Like I said, it’s NEW Rilo Kiley.
;)

Ivan & Alyosha - Easy To Love
I’ve been hearing this on the radio just about every time I turn the radio on lately, and although I hate to see radio ruin such a great song, it is good to see these guys getting some props.
The Folk-Pop, Seattle based group releases their first full length album today.
I don’t know if most people know that the band name is taken from the famous novel The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. A great read, and that concludes your history/literature lesson for the day. ;)

The VirginMarys - Dressed to Kill
Sometimes artwork, or an album cover, an image, is all it takes to get a listen. That’s what happened with me here, and I’m pretty glad I did listen.
I don’t know much about this band as of yet, but am going to do a little digging.

The XX - I Miss You (Beyonce Cover)
This is as good as the title suggests. If you know the music of The XX at all then you know, just about everything they cover, or anything the put out in general is amazing.
This is no exception.
