Ane Brun - Do You Remember (Featuring First Aid Kit)
With slightly tribal beats, and the beautiful background vocals contibuted by the Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit, This song just keeps making me hit repeat over and over again.
Love it.

The Barr Brothers - Beggar In The Morning(Live On Letterman)
I actually prefer the official video for this song, but I’m posting the live one above so that you can see some of the crazy use of instruments,….and feck, do I love harmonica. :)
Oh, and they have a harp in the band. How cool is that?
“She said, hello I’m a monster too, and
what poisons me, is what poisons you…
Into these animals we grew, well
when we were young, our eyes were blue….”

So, so good.
I still can not get enough of this song.

The Welcome Wagon - Would You Come and See Me In New York
The Welcome Wagon as a Gospel/indie pop band from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. The group consists of Presbyterian minister Vito Aiuto and his wife, Monique, and the record was produced by none other than Sufjan Stevens, and well, you can really hear his influence on the album, I think.
With twangy, steel guitar, beautiful instrumentation and soft, smooth vocals, Welcome Wagon is definitely worth a deeper look.

Isbells - Baskin
I’lll be honest, I’d seen this bands name a few times but I have never heard them til tonight, and I’m pretty stoked I gave them a listen.
Because I’m really tired, I’m just going to say, this is a beautiful song, and I am pretty impressed by some other songs I gave a brief listen to. Definitely check them out.
Five Mile Town - Saturate
Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, this three piece indie/folk band is making a huge sound, and will undoubtedly be broadening their tour outside of their home country very, very soon.
I really, really hate to say this, not because I dislike the band, or anything, but it seems a generic comparison, but these guys really do remind me a lot of Mumford and Sons.
Give them a listen, check out their FB Page, watch their pretty damn sweet video, and buy the song HERE.

Good news indeed!

Sianna Plavin - Cruel(Rough)
Simple is not always bad, and in this song, the slow, simple strings saddled up next to Sianna’s soft, sultry voice is well, amazing.
(How’s that for alliteration?)

Xavier Rudd - Messages
It’s not often that I put my ipod, Blue II, on Shuffle. I really don’t care for the feature, but when you have a lot of music, sometimes songs tend to get lost and forgotten. This, sadly was the case for this beautiful song.
If you haven’t had the chance to listen to much of Xavier aka 2007’s Sexiest Vegetarian, then you should really change that. The multi instrumentalisthas some mind blowingly good songs, stands up for a lot of good causes annnnd eats his veggies apparently. Ha.

Peter Broderick - Everything I know
peter Broderick is a multi instrumentalist and composer that not only performs solo but plays with a lot of other really good musicians/bands ( She & Him, Horse and Feathers, Delorean and is also a member of the indie band Efterklang).
Anyways, I think you’ll like this song.
For fans of Andrew Bird, The Barr Brothers, The Head and the Heart, Efterklang.
