This track couples up almost too perfectly with the last one I posted(new Passion Pit). Start of a new mix? Si, tal vez.
I think I gave this a listen because of the album title, Burning Flowers of India,….great title, but I am really glad I did. Chill, smooth and ethereal in the same vein as Explosions in the Sky or similar artists. Definitely a worthy listen.
This has been in my, heavily listened to, rotation for the last week or so.
Electronic and slightly funky, with some cool vocals. I listened to the whole, Remarkable Engines, album and really liked it. A lot. I think if you’re a fan of the Gorillaz you would like this a lot,…and really, if you’re just a fan of good music in general, you will appreciate this.
oh, and the kicker?…..it’s available on Bandcamp to download for whatever price you choose.
It’s a little bit different than the Pretty Lights stuff i know, I guess. Derek aka Pretty Lights is quoted as saying, “It’s my first attempt at producing in a style I like to call Analog Electronica”. Alrighty then. Whatever it’s called it’s just more genius from a familiar name. Yep.
The Immigrant - Summer of Love(She Said) (Angger Dimas Remix)
This is one to play with the top/windows down on your way to a party or maybe just on your way from work(which can be a party in itself, right?) with the volume wayyyyyyyyy uppp!
Love it. and, well,…what’s not to love about a summer of love?
Hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, this boy/girl duo deliver sometimes spunky sometimes hauntingly beautiful, and always excellent garagey, distorted out electro.
As a comparison, i would say if you like Explosions in the Sky then you will most likely love Evenings.
Chill, smooth instrumental electro that could just as easily soundtrack a hot and heavy makeout session as it could an evening studying or reading.
Oh, and you can download the entire Ep over on their Bandcamp page for whatever you’re willing to donate. Don’t be cheap. Donate. even if it’s like a buck or two, it’s fucking worth it. Do it. Do it.
