Of Monsters and Men - Skeletons(Yeah Yeah Yeahs Cover)
This cover is as good as the title implies, assuming you know the bands. If you don’t know either of the bands,…..well, you should probably get your head out of the sand and familiarize yourself with both.
Two bands, with two entirely different sounds.
Of monsters and Men a earthy, folksy sounding band take a brilliant song by the edgy, in your face Yeah Yeah Yeahs and put their own twist on it, and the result is amazing.
Lana Del Ray - Chelsea Hotel No. 2 ( Leonard Cohen Cover)
I’m posting this without actually listening to it because I can’t have the volume up right now, and couldn’t find my headphones, so I’m basically assuming Lana Del Ray + Leonard Cohen will = Awesomeness.
Fun. - Queen of the Slipstream (Van Morrison Cover)
Van Morrison reminds me of Summer and mountain tops and underage drinking, and adventure and Fun. reminds me of a summer when I found hope when pretty much everything around me was going to hell in a handbasket.
It’s a nice combination of thoughts, and Nate and Co. cover a musical genius and pull it off.
I don’t really feel like I need to write a description, introduction, or whatever to anything The XX puts out. They’re THAT good, and this is no exception.
This is as good as the title suggests. If you know the music of The XX at all then you know, just about everything they cover, or anything the put out in general is amazing.
I eat, sleep, breathe music. This blog is a small taste of what i like.
