First Aid Kit - King of the World (Feat. Conor Oberst)
Presuming just about everyone reading this knows who Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes is/are,…..if you don’t know who First Aid Kit is. …. .. educate yourself. Haha
The second(or third?) track from the new album, The Lions Roar, out tomorrow(January 24th). Like the previously heard track, Emmylou, this song is most excellent.
Oh, and by the by, you can stream the whole shiny, new album over at NPR.

Like/Dislike?

Bright Eyes - Blue Christmas
This is probably one of my favorite Christmas songs, and Conor does a pretty nice job putting the ‘blue’ into it.
( Is it just me, or does Conor sometimes look a little like the weird brother that had a crush on Vince Vaughn in Wedding Crashers?)

Craig Wedren - Are We (feat. Conor Oberst & Janet Weiss)
A song that is both mellow and anthem like at the same time by Craig Wedren of several different music projects(Shudder To Think, BABY), featuring special guests Conor Oberst and Janet Weiss(Sleater-Kinney).

So,…… the Lollapalooza Lineup for 2011 looks pretty nice eh?

Creature Colony - I will Follow You Into The Dark(Death Cab For Cutie Cover)
With obvious influences from bands like Brand New, Death Cab For Cutie, and Manchester Orchestra, Creature Colony might be lurking in the shadows of the more established aforementioned bands, but they will undoubtedly not stay there for long.
Hailing from Los Banos, California, the band that has “a little folk, a little rock, and some punk on top” is sure to be joining their musical counterparts world dominance.
I’m hooked.

Bright Eyes - Shell Games(Official Video)
The video isn’t much, in my opinion, but I do like the song Shell Games. I don’t know. It got more interesting about half way though, but sometimes I think bands just try to heard in videos.
Oh, and what self respecting owl would be hanging out during a bands jam session? Psh.
