Well, it seems like it’s been a minute since Animal Colelctive was on my radar, and that’s kinda sad,……….. buttttt happy, happy! They’re back where they belong, making amazingness like this!
Just after a few listens, I can tell this will probably end up as one of my all time favorites. Love it. Summery. Fresh, with some kind of crazy Afrikan sound going on. Did I mention that I loved it?

So, I downloaded this a couple days ago, and have been listening to it off and on, and after realizing I really like it a lot, I went to their Myspace page and gave some of their other songs a listen, and they really have a nice sound, comparative to Animal Collective and or Passion Pit.

Jacob Ruefer - Peacebone(Animal Collective Cover)
This is my second week into my project/idea of playing a new cover song every Monday. I personally love a good cover song. Today’s is by artist Jacob Ruefer of Illinois, and at first I was like wow, I really like the original by AC, and this is definitely different in style, but it’s grown on me over the year.
Ruefer covers a lot of other great songs from artists like LCD Soundsystem, the xx, Yorke, and Broken Social Scene, too, so check out his blog, and/or Myspace page and give him a listen.

This really reminds me of the freak factor bit of the Animal Collective video, Peacebone.
That comparison aside, the video featuring Kristen Bell(of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Couples Retreat), grabs you, holds you, and leaves you a little sad and saying WTF? Haha
