The Welcome Wagon - Would You Come and See Me In New York
The Welcome Wagon as a Gospel/indie pop band from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. The group consists of Presbyterian minister Vito Aiuto and his wife, Monique, and the record was produced by none other than Sufjan Stevens, and well, you can really hear his influence on the album, I think.
With twangy, steel guitar, beautiful instrumentation and soft, smooth vocals, Welcome Wagon is definitely worth a deeper look.
Yes, this is the same Angus from Angus and Julia Stone, and yes it is amazing. Mellow, chill, floaty semi-acoustic sounding single from the yet to be forthcoming, new solo album.
For fans of: Angus and Julia Stone(Obviously, haha), Iron and Wine, Acoustic, William Fitzsimmons.
With the first listen of River Whyless, all these thoughts came rushing to my mind(that alone is always a good sign), thoughts and memories,….and then after a while just,… Wow! These guys have a great fucking sound!
Beautiful male and female vocals, and an amazing combination of instrumentation(Bells, Guitar, Harp, banjo, Violin, Cello, Ukulele, Viola).
Give this band a listen, it’s definitely worth your time, and you’ll feel cool “knowing about them before they blow up and become superrrr popular”. ;)
You can buy their album for any price on Bandcamp, follow them on Facebook, or even right here on Tumblr.
Walk of the Earth - Someboy That I Used To Know(Gotye Cover)
I saw this sometime last week, and I know it’s already as Viral as the common cold, but this really is pretty damn cool.
Sharon Van Etten - Leonard(New Song)
New song, performed live for idmagazingonline features Sharon Van Etten, an acoustic guitar, and some backup vocals. Stripped down and beautiful. If you haven’t listened much to Van Etten yet, you really should. No, seriously. Do it. Do it.
With vocals comparable to Laura Marling, Lilly Allen, and Kate Nash, London native Elena Tonra aka Daughter is already making a lot of noise in the indie/folk scene,…and when I say noise I mean beautiful, folky, acoustic goodness.
