The Walkmen - We Can’t Be Beat

This is the best thing I have listened to today, and that’s pretty crazy because I was listening to a pretty damn good Andy Bird song like right before it.

Sometimes I forget what a great band this is.

Slow, acoustic goodness with vocals and lyrics semi reminiscent of something from the 50’s or 60’s. Harmonizing background vocals. Then it takes off. Electric. Really, just a beautiful song, perfect for Monday morning listening.

The new album, Heaven, is due out May 29th.

If you’ve ever seen one of the greatest Christmas movies ever made (Christmas Vacation starring Chevy Chase) then you will instantly recognize this song. Different singer, but The Walkmen are great.
